NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- A Farmington man cut electrical wires in a house under construction, causing about $65,000 in damages, New Canaan Police said.

Salvatore Paul Germano, 55, of 42 Penfield Place, turned himself in to police Thursday afternoon after learning there was a warrant for his arrest.

Police began investigating June 21 after they were called to a Summit Ridge Road that was under construction when the vandalism was discovered.

Germano was released on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to return to court on Sept. 15.
