Police: New Canaan Home Invaded, Man Tied Up

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – New Canaan Police are trying to find out who invaded a Ponus Ridge Road home and tied up one of its residents on Saturday evening.

Police responded to the home at about 10 p.m. after receiving a report of a home invasion in progress. Police found a resident on the second floor with his hands and feet tied up with rope. Police said the man told officers that the invaders left after seeing marked police cars coming toward the home.

Police used K-9 units from the Norwalk Police Department to try and find the perpetrators, but the trail ended on a nearby side street where police said a getaway vehicle was located.

The home’s resident did not have serious injuries. Police said evidence collected at the home will be sent to the state police crime lab for forensic analysis. New Canaan Police also plan to work with other police departments to see if this home invasion is related to similar incidents that have taken place in the past year.
