Mohmed Boumazzourn of Camp Street in Norwalk is charged with carrying a facsimile firearm, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest and breach of peace. He was held on $100,000 bond pending arraignment Thursday, the Stamford Advocate said.
Police responded to the report of a man carrying a concealed gun at about 5:15 p.m., and had to chase him through the multilevel mall, the story said. Officers with guns drawn finally tackled him at the elevator and fought to get control of him and the gun, the Stamford Advocate reports.
On Friday, Stamford Mayor David Martin, with Director of Public Safety Ted Jankowski and Assistant Police Chief Tom Wuennemann, will commend several police officers who took part in the arrest.
