Police Release New Description Of Car Involved In Death Of Weston Cyclist

WESTON, Conn. -- Bethel Police have released further witness descriptions of the car that struck and killed Thomas Steinert-Threlkeld, 59, of Weston in a hit-and-run incident while he was cycling Sunday, according to Patch.com.

The car was initially described as a medium to dark-gray or silver sedan. Further witness reports describe the car as possibly being an Acura with tinted windows and damage to the rear side where Steinert-Threlkeld may have been hit, according to the article. The car fled north on Old Hawleyville Road, according to the article.

An avid road cyclist, Steinert-Threlkeld was the editorial director of B2B Publishing at IBT Media.

In 2001, he also created Baseline magazine, which examined how businesses achieved or failed to achieve their objectives through the use of information systems. Baseline won the Grand Neal Award for an investigation that uncovered a series of deaths in Panama that related to a faulty piece of software developed by a St. Louis company.

Steinert-Threlkeld was also a former business columnist and technology reporter for The Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star-Telegram in Texas.

He is survived by a wife and two children.
