Stamford officers were called to the area of 44 Cowan Ave. on reports of a stabbing at about 9:35 p.m., according to police reports. Officers found an 18-year-old man at the scene with a serious cut on his right arm and more cuts and bruises to his head, police said. He was taken to Stamford Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The victim told officers that a group of six to seven black males in dark clothing approached him as he was leaving the basketball game at Stamford High School. The men pepper-sprayed him in his face, beat him and stabbed him with a knife before running away, according to the police report.
Officers discovered two more men at Stamford Hospital with similar injuries, police said. The patients, ages 18 and 19, has also been pepper-sprayed, punched and stabbed with a small knife, police said. Both had non-life-threatening injuries to the head and back.
“These victims were uncooperative with officers conducting the investigation,” Stamford Police said in a press release Thursday. Police later found and investigated at the crime scene on Holcumb Avenue, according to the police report.
The cases were still under investigation by the Stamford Police Detective Bureau. Anyone who may have witnessed one of the attacks or who can provide any information should contact police at 203-977-4417.
