Police: Woman Arrested With Fake Credit Cards In Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. – A 22-year-old Brooklyn, N.Y. woman was arrested Sunday at the Best Buy store on Connecticut Avenue after she tried to purchase more than $2,600 worth of Apple and other electronics with a fake credit card, police said.

Jasmine Lightburn, of Glenwood Road, tried to buy a 13-inch Macbook laptop, an iPad Mini and other items with a credit card under the name "Amanda Miller," police said. The card did not have a signature on the back and when store security asked her for identification, police said she first presented an ID under Miller’s name with a different picture.

Police said she subsequently told authorities her correct name, but officers found 16 credit cards in her possession, 13 of which were under the Miller name. Three were under her name, and she also had two gift cards for an undisclosed amount.

Lightburn was charged with third-degree larceny, credit card theft, identity theft, criminal impersonation, illegal use of a credit card and other related charges. She was held in lieu of a $50,000 bond and was scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court Monday.
