NEW CANAAN, Conn. — A second Norwalk man has been arrested on charges of breaking into a New Canaan home and stealing over $1,800 worth of jewelry last month, police said.

Marlo Naen Aguirre, 29, of 3 Testa Place, was arrested on a warrant at noon Monday at Stamford Superior Court. He was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree conspiracy to commit burglary, third-degree larceny and third-degree conspiracy to commit larceny.

Aguirre was held on $5,000 bond with a court date of Oct. 9.

His alleged accomplice, Sioni Bonilla, 35, of Ely Avenue, was arrested Sept. 5 on the same charges. He was also held on bond.

The two men are charged with breaking into a home on Smith Ridge Road in New Canaan on Aug. 15, police said.

The resident told police that the doors and windows were locked while they were gone for the day. But when the resident returned, items had been "disturbed' in the home, with someone entering through a window, police said.

Multiple pieces of jewelry, with a total value of $1,800, were gone, police said.

On Aug. 17, a Darien resident reported an attempted home burglary and gave police a license plate number, police said.

Norwalk police tracked down the car, which belonged to Bonilla, police said. A search of Bonilla's car turned up the "distinctive" jewelry that had been stolen in the New Canaan burglary, police said.

New Canaan officers questioned Bonilla and Aguirre, and they confessed to the Smith Ridge Road burglary, police said.
