Bryan Stockbridge, 58, of Ansonia, was charged with three counts of fourth-degree sexual assault after police learned he had returned to the area from California and was living in Ansonia, police said.

The arrest stemmed from an investigation begun in March 2016, when three women who worked at Dee’s Kitchen told police that Stockbridge was sexually harassing them and touched them inappropriately on several occasions, police said.

Detectives secured an arrest warrant at the time, but were unable to apprehend Stockbridge, police said. They were told that he had fled to California after detectives interviewed him, police said.

He was arrested without incident at his Ansonia residence on Thursday.

Stockbridge posted $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 27.

Opened in 2015, Dee’s Kitchen replaced Stockbridge’s Cheesecakes, which operated at the same location until late 2014. Both restaurants sold Stockbridge’s delicacies, voted Connecticut Magazine’s Best Cheesecake in Connecticut for 11 of the 15 years Stockbridge’s Cheesecakes was in business.
