A 15-year-old girl and her 13-year-old brother are facing charges after they used stolen credit cards on a buying spree at the Stamford Town Center mall Wednesday afternoon, police said.
An employee at a store served a group of four young people at about 4 p.m. who had attempted a purchase of $485 at the store, police said. The credit card was declined, and the group left the store but said they would return, police said.
Soon after the clerk noticed that her wallet was missing, police said. She made a call and discovered that the card had just been used at a nearby store, police said. She went to the store, saw two of the teens and called mall security, police said. The girl was detained but the boy ran from the scene, police said. He was later found and detained, police said.
Police said multiple credit cards had been stolen and used at about a dozen stores in the mall, police said.
The teens names were not released due to their ages.
