Stamford Teen Pleads Guilty To Armed Robbery During Pot Deal

STAMFORD, Conn. -- A 17-year-old Stamford resident will serve at least five years in prison after pleading guilty to an armed robbery where another teen was shot last November, according to the Stamford Advocate.

Savior Dominguez pleaded guilty to armed robbery under a plea deal that will allow him to graduate from high school before he faces sentencing, the Stamford Advocate reported. If he gets arrested before his sentencing, he will face the maximum sentence of 20 years for the armed robbery, according to the Stamford Advocate.

The charges stem from a Nov. 27, 2016 robbery where Dominguez and a friend, 17-year-old Amoni Kelly, are accused of robbing a New Britain resident during a marijuana deal, the Stamford Advocate reported. The two Stamford teens set up a marijuana purchase from a New Britain man, but instead planned to steal the marijuana, according to the Stamford Advocate.

During the deal, Dominguez pulled out a gun and ended up shooting a 17-year-old from New Britain who had come with their prospective dealer, according to the Stamford Advocate. Dominguez and Kelly were arrested, and Kelly pleaded guilty under a plea deal in July, according to the Stamford Advocate.
