Student Hit By Car At Danbury's Western Connecticut State University

The student was struck by an eastbound car on White Street at the school's Midtown Campus and transported to Danbury Hospital for treatment, WestConn said. His injuries were not life-threatening.

Updated: DANBURY, Conn. — A student at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury was hit by a car late Tuesday afternoon — the first day of classes, the college said via Facebook. 

The 27-year-old transfer student was in the pedestrian crosswalk in front of Litchfield Hall when the accident happened shortly before 5:30 p.m., according to WLAD-AM.

The driver stopped and waited for police at the scene of the accident, and Danbury and WestConn police are investigating, WestConn said.

Police have video of the accident, WestConn said.
