The theft occurred just after midnight on Wednesday, Feb. 25. Officers responded to the store on Tokeneke Road on a report of a burglar alarm activation, police said.
When officers arrived, they found that a window to a side entrance door had been smashed, police said.
They checked the store and found that a single drawer in a desk had been opened, police said. The store owner told police that $40 from the petty cash drawer was missing. Everything else in the store was undisturbed.
The incident is currently under investigation.
