According to investigators from the Wilton Police Department, an officer on patrol at approximately 3:15 a.m. on Thursday, June 21, spotted four vehicles exiting a River Road assisted living housing complex, which had been the target of multiple stolen vehicles and larcenies from inside cars parked at the facility.

Police said that officers followed two vehicles down Old Highway and Sharp Hill Road, before both were eventually stopped on Danbury Road. It was later determined that both vehicles were stolen, a Nissan Rogue taken from New Haven last week, and a Ford Escape that had been stolen out of Wilton just before the traffic stop.

Michael Lockhart, 19, and a fellow Bridgeport resident were arrested. The 17-year-old juvenile's name has not been released due to his age.

Two other vehicles were reported stolen in Wilton, as well as a pair of motor vehicle burglaries, police noted. One of the stolen vehicles, a Volkswagen Jetta, was recovered in a Westport Road parking garage, while the fourth stolen vehicle, a 2010 Nissan Rogue, has not been recovered.

Lockhart was arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree larceny, two counts of conspiracy to commit larceny, two counts of burglary, two counts of conspiracy to commit burglary, sixth-degree larceny and illegal operation of a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

Following arraignment on Thursday morning, Lockhart is being held in lieu of $20,000 bond.

The juvenile was charged with two counts each of first-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit larceny, burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary. An Order to Detain was completed for the juvenile and he was transported to Bridgeport Juvenile Court.
