Westport Police Capture Suspects In Knife-Point Robbery

WESTPORT, Conn. – The men wanted for robbing a New York City man at knife point and leaving him in Westport Wednesday turned themselves in to Westport police Saturday morning, police said.

The suspects, Peter Ferraro Jr. of Norwalk and Andrew Frank Jr. of Stamford, were charged with first-degree kidnapping, first-degree robbery and conspiracy to commit first-degree robbery, all felonies.

Early Wednesday morning, Ferraro, 24, and Frank, 21, offered the man a ride from East Norwalk for $10, police said.

Later, the suspects pulled a knife on the man, demanded more money and stole his wallet, police said. Ferraro threatened the man’s life and demanded the PIN number to his debit card, police said. The man was eventually let go in Westport after giving Ferraro his PIN number, police said.

Ferraro, who is also accused of using one of the man’s ATM cards at two local banks, was additionally charged  with credit card theft, illegal use of a credit card and sixth-degree larceny.

Both Ferraro and Frank were being held on $150,000 bond. They are scheduled to be arraigned at Norwalk Superior Court on Monday.

“Media and public assistance, as well as the assistance of both the Norwalk and Stamford Police Departments was instrumental in the speedy and successful conclusion of this violent crime investigation,” police said in a statement.
