Jennifer Valiante, 31, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder and hindering prosecution under the Alford Doctrine on Friday, according to the Connecticut Post. A plea under the Alford Doctrine means that she does not admit guilt, but concedes that should would be found guilty under the evidence.

Jeanette and Jeffrey Navin of Easton were reported missing in August 215, and their remains were found in the yard of a home on Norfield Road in Weston in October 2015. The day that the remains were discovered and identified, police arrested their son, Kyle Navin, and his girlfriend, Valiante, and charged them in connection with their deaths.

"We need to figure out what the best way to take them down,” he said in a text message to Valiante, according to the warrant. “We got to figure out I’m got to be real smart and do it quick.”

Navin, who is charged with two counts of murder and one count of murder under special circumstances, is next scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 6.
