Wilton Police Arrest Man In Two December Car Burglaries

WILTON, Conn. -- Three months after a pair of pre-Christmas car burglaries, Wilton Police have arrested a Bristol man and are expecting to make more arrests in the case.

Jay Crump Jr., 27, of 446 Fall Mountain Road, was arrested Thursday. 

Two vehicles were broken into overnight Dec. 21 to Dec. 22 in the Rivergate Drive and West Meadow Road areas, police said. A short time later, that credit cards stolen from the vehicles were used in Waterbury and Southington, police said. 

Police reviewed video evidence and identified Crump as one of the suspects. The investigation is ongoing.

He was charged with two counts each of third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, second-degree identity theft, conspiracy to commit identity theft, sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit sixth-degree larceny. He is also charged with one count of credit card forgery of signature.

Police didn't release a bond amount or court date.
