Woman Killed By Truck On I-84 Identified As 58-Year-Old Danbury Resident

DANBURY, Conn. -- State Police identified the woman who was hit and killed on Interstate 84 on Tuesday evening as a 58-year-old Danbury resident but won't release her name yet, according to ctnews.com.

State Police said the victim's nearest relatives are out of the country and have not yet been reached, ctnews.com reported. 

The woman was struck by a tractor-trailer near Exit 6 on Interstate 84 in Danbury at about 8 p.m. Tuesday. Authorities said she had stopped on the shoulder and had gotten out of her vehicle when she was hit. 

The driver of the tractor-trailer, pulled over and cooperated with police, ctnews.com reported. 

The accident remains under investigation, and no charges have been filed.
