“We really have some questions that need to be answered,” Fairfield First Selectman Michael Tetreau said at the last Board of Selectmen meeting. Among the questions that need to be answered he said are: What happened, what are the options and how do we fix this?

No formal vote was taken during the meeting, but the selectmen all agreed that they would like to see a building committee re-formed to oversee the planning and fixing of the pavilion in order to ensure that the building is able to withstand another hurricane.

“We’ve gone beyond the scope of just repairing it,” Tetreau said. The building committee would have two charges – how to pay for the project and seeing the project through to completion.

Ultimately the committee would be the ones to choose a building plan to recommend to the town as what should be done moving forward.
