New Canaan Democrats To Host Barbecue On Sunday

NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- The New Canaan Democratic Town Committee will hold its annual barbecue Sunday, offering residents a chance to meet the party's local candidates for office.

Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman, along with the slate of local candidates, will attend Sunday's barbecue hosted by the New Canaan Democrats.

The event will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at Kiwanis Park, Old Norwalk Road.

There will be plenty of food, as well as visits from U.S. Rep. Jim Himes, Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman, Connecticut Comptroller Kevin Lembo and other Democratic officials in support of the party's local slate of candidates.

The local candidates -- Beth Jones, Kathleen Corbet, Sven Englund, Jeanne Rozel, Penny Rashin, Sheri West, Wendy Fog, Cindy Franco, Arnold Karp and Ed Vollmer -- will attend.

Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 at the door. Those 17 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased online.
