The new design, a rectangular shaped lot, was selected from seven alternative layouts for the deck and will allow for more grass than the original design, said the NCAdvertiser.

Currently, there are 155 parking spaces at the lot, the new design will provide 240 parking spaces, according to the NCAdvertiser. If the town receives the $2 million in state aid, it will cover about half the cost of the updated lot, added the NCAdvertiser.
