OLD TIMER:

Biden won big time, in my opinion. There is a very delicate balance in that kind of debate. Biden called Ryan a liar, a number of times without using that exact word. He needed to point out where Ryan was way off base on his arithmetic and his history without offending voters who would be upset by the language if he used words like "liar" and and a few others I won't repeat here. Most of us have other words we use for "malarky", for instance.

BCT:

Please. Biden obviously needs to up his dose of Abilify. You can't cackle like a hyena in meetings with foreign leaders.

Pony Tail Steve:

Biden just laughed, and rambled on and on. Like it was some joke or something.

Tim T:

Well Pony tail steve I agree with you as Ryan was some joke or something..thanks for pointing that out.

ENorwalk:

Why comment at all, everyone is picking the winner based on who they want to win the elections. I didnt even watch the debate but I am going to say Ryan won because I sure wouldnt want Biden running this country if something happened to the President.

Mr. Zippy:

Biden generally won as far as I am concerned, however that giant lie about Benghazi will come back to haunt the campaign..and not sure how his smarmy disrespectful behaviour will play in the mid west...out here in the east we are used to obnoxious rude people...

Paige:

I was working, so I didn't get to see the debate, but I did see the clip where Biden talked about Benghazi and I was not really pleased with that at all. This debate came right on the heels of a White House staffer claiming that Romney and Ryan were responsible for the Libyan "circus". Really? Romney and Ryan were responsible for that? I've also got a major problem with the terminology the White House used in describing the Libyan attack as a "circus". I am sure the families of those murdered embassy staff along with the Ambassador's family do, also.

Biden represents our country and manners count. So does attitude. Ask anyone who has dealt with the Japanese or Chinese. Obama wouldn't look at Romney during the debate (rude) while Biden laughed at Ryan throughout the debate (ruder still) by all the accounts I've read, including comments from NY Times staffers on Twitter.

Charles Krauthammer commented that in reading the transcripts, the debate seems to be equally matched, but if one heard it on the radio, Biden seemed to have the upper hand. However, if one watched it, then Biden undercut himself by his smirk, his laughing and his body language.

nadinemjones:

Joe Biden had that baby drinking from his sippy cup ALL evening like there was Jesus juice in it!!!! It was what a debate should be, Mr. VP had enough of the BS and was Checking the FACTS on the spot before the LIES take off with wings of their own!!! Loved it!!! Too bad Mr. President can swoop down like Biden did for fear of being called "the angry Black man"

Pony Tail Steve:

Typical

NorwalkLifer:

Joe Biden is a friend of Nato, Joe Biden has been fighting for the middle class for a long time, and, and, Joe Biden is a good friend to those Republican senators and congressman who deserve the respect of their colleagues,

Richard Lugar who was outsed by some twelve year old twit in Indiana, was one of our most learned foreign policy experts along with people like Joe Biden, and Carl Levin, Lugar was thrown out by this new Republican party that panders to corporatists and twelve year olds,

Ryan is a twelve year old; he's too immature, and too self centric to be the VEEP, he couldn't handle an honest debate, he cannot handle being the vice president of the United States, and I don't care how masterful he might be with an excel spread sheet

Heartfelt:

Ryan won because Biden lost. Ryan's answers were clear and he seemed upbeat and positive. But the impression Biden made upon me was negative. Probably because Biden ridiculed Ryan whereas Ryan was respectful of Biden. I am in favor of a change. Lets see what some R&R can do.

Pony Tail Steve:

All the polls say the same thing. Biden was just a joke, Ryan was polite and well behaved with solid answers.

Tim T:

No what all the polls actually say is Biden made Ryan look like the fool that he is..You would understand that..

Tim T:

Joe Biden won BIG TIME...He made Ryan look like a child and a fool.
