Presidential Bid By Westchester Native Pataki Could Have Possibilities

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Peekskill native and Garrison resident George Pataki may be a long shot to win the Republican Nomination for president in 2016, but he appears serious about joining an already crowded field, according to an opinion piece in the New York Observer.

Pataki could appeal to a national audience due to the same moderate stances that helped him win three gubernatorial elections in New York, a state that has proven to lean to the Democratic side of things when it comes to elections, the New York Observer said. 

While Pataki's track record in a liberal state won't be enough to secure him a nomination, however. The path the the GOP presidential nomination for the former New York governor depends greatly on who else seeks that nomination, the New York Observer said.
