NEW CANAAN, Conn. — New Canaan has posted its proposed budget on the town’s website.

The proposed spending plan is slightly more than $132 million, which would be a $6.48 million or 5.16 percent increase on this year's budget. That includes $77.9 million for the Board of Education, a 4.54 percent increase in school spending.

New Canaan residents will have a chance to comment on the proposed spending plan at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the New Canaan Nature Center, 144 Oenoke Ridge. The town’s Board of Finance will then amend the proposed plan before sending it to the Town Council for final approval.
