The residence was constructed in 1955 by civic architect and homeowner Willis Mills, who is best known for his work designing churches, libraries, college buildings and more. The house consists of glass and redwood, as well as stone and steel. Seamlessly embracing its natural environment, the house boasts recent renovations that compliment this distinct design, according to a press release.

New Canaan agent Karen Sneirson has the listing. The home is offered at $2.725 million.

The construction of the “Willis Mills Home,” transformed a portion of a 2-acre plot of rugged land into 4,368 square feet of modern living space.

Years after Mills relocated, yet another transformation was made on the property in the late 2000s by former homeowners and architects Craig Bassam and Scott Fellows, who updated the master suite, kitchen and lower level to create a smooth common area and open-floor-plan flow, according to a press release.
