On a mild and sunny Sunday afternoon, a small crowd gathered on the patio at Westport's Splash for cocktails. A world apart from the post-Memorial Day mob scene that marks summer Sundays here, the scene was picture perfect. A smattering of couples and friends lazed comfortably on the lounge-style seating as boats floated past on the Long Island Sound and a contemporary music mix wafted from the outdoor speakers.
After a day of boating with friends, Danise Talbot of Norwalk joined Fairfield's John Harrington, left, and Bridgeport's Tom Kirby for a beer and an order of Splash's famous Firecracker Spring Rolls. Once the end of May hits and the Sunday bands are booked, the group will undoubtedly face competition for those coveted seats.
