Metal Sculpture Show Opens at Wilton Library

Artisan House is honoring its past this month with an exhibit at the Wilton Library tracing the development of C. Jeré artisan metal sculptures. There will be an opening reception at the Libary starting at 6 p.m. Friday.

C. Jeré is a product line founded in 1964 by Curtis Freiler and Jerry Fels. According to John Shilling, president of Wilton-based Artisan House, C. Jeré has earned a reputation over the years for "multi-dimensional designs that are vibrant and impactful,”

The exhibit’s works range from representational sculptures from the 1970s to 21st century style pieces. They include a hanging tabletop and free-standing objects made of bronze, steel, and copper.

Master artists featured in the show are B.J. Keith, Shawn Coffey, and Karen Swildens of the C. Jeré Design Studio.

The exhibit runs through Dec. 30.  All of the items are available for purchase and a portion of the proceeds will go to the library.
