The crash occured around 12:50 a.m. today under the Route 80 overpass at North Midland Avenue, Deputy Police Chief Robert White told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

A 911 caller told police that two of the 2008 Volkwagen Passet’s occupants ran south on North Midland Avenue, while the other headed east on New Pehle Avenue, White said.

Officers located the two nearby, he said.

One of them — identified as 19-year-old Christopher Cedeno of Lodi — was bleeding from the head and the other, a 17-year-old boy also from Lodi, was “heavily intoxicated,” the deputy chief said.

An ambulance took Cedeno to Hackensack University Medical Center. The juvenile was brought to a nearby hospital until he could sober up, White said.

The third occupant — identified as 18-year-old Justin Glazer of Saddle Brook — later came to headquarters for questioning after being called by a detective, he said.

Glazer is free on $100,000 bail in connection with the Aug. 27 robbery of a Chinese food deliveryman (SEE: Saddle Brook police arrest 3 teens in armed deliveryman robbery)

The three last night were at the Bennigan’s on North Midland Avenue near the crash scene when a friend loaned them his mother’s car, the deputy chief told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Charges were likely once police sort out who was driving, among other circumstances, he said.

The Volkwagen had to be towed and a fuel spill cleaned up by firefighters.
