The owner of Hudson Drugs told police he’d stopped by the Union Avenue pharmacy to drop off some paperwork around 6:40 p.m. when he noticed a sunglass rack moving inside, Detective Charles Franke told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Responding officers found a smashed glass door panel, a tired iron and “quite a mess,” along with a trail of $70 or so in cash, Franke said.

The burglar apparently got a small amount of cash and nothing else from the pharmacy, he said.

A Bergen County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit did a track around the block, while the sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Identification processed the scene.

Investigators tonight also began canvassing area businesses for surveillance video.
