Investigators took 39-year-old Donald Wallace of College Park, GA just before midnight last night at the corner of 47 St and 11th Avenue in Manhattan, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this afternoon.

Wallace was charged with making terroristic threats and creating a false public alarm.

Dozens of officers swarmed the tunnel area in Weekhawken after the caller said a sniper was on the roof of Dykes Lumber, which overlooks the tubes from Park Avenue. In what authorities said was a completely unrelated incident, someone else reported seeing a gun on a light rail.

The first 911 call came in around 5:15 p.m. It was traced to Park Avenue and 19th Street in Weehawken, and traffic was stopped near the tunnel for an extensive search.
