Red Hook Residents May Experience Water Discoloration

RED HOOK, N.Y. -- An upcoming fire hydrant flushing may cause some residents in Red Hook Water District No. 1 to have discolored water beginning Monday, May 16, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.

The flushing will take place from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. May 16 and 17. If residents do have discoloration, they should run their water until it is clear before using. They should also use care when washing white laundry, said the Poughkeepsie Journal.

If the discoloration continues for more than 24 hours, residents should call 845-677-3839, added the Poughkeepsie Journal.
