Teterboro's Hands-On Weekend Lets Visitors Jump Into The Cockpit

TETERBORO, N.J. -- The Aviation Hall of Fame will open cockpits to visitors at Teterboro Airport Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 20-21.

“Open Cockpit Weekend” takes place 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Visitors can sit in the cockpits of,

  • TWA Convair 880 jetliner
  • Rare Lockheed-designed Bush Plane
  • Cobra AH-1 gunship helicopter 
  • HH-52A Coast Guard helicopter 
  • OV-1A Mohawk close support aircraft 
  • Bell 47 helicopter
  • “Little-Cut-Up” aircraft control demonstrator
  • Control cab of a real Airport Rescue and Fire-Fighting truck. 

People, young and old can learn how the flight systems work. Qualified pilots will help guests understand the instruments and controls of these special aircraft. 

Particpants can also experience a multimedia international space station, as well as Buzz Aldrin exhibts inside the museum.

Admission $10, Adults; $8 seniors and children under 12; 2 and under are free.
