ID Released For Lynn Man Killed In Swampscott Rock Crusher Accident

A man killed in a quarry accident was identified as the owner of an Essex County construction company, officials and reports say.

Christopher Perry, 37, of Lynn, died on Monday, July 17 while cleaning a malfunctioning rock crusher suspended above a quarry located at 30 Danvers Road in Swampscott, according to the Essex County District Attorney. 

Another worker was also in the rock crusher with Perry but was uninjured. 

Perry was the owner of CGP Landscaping, based in Swampscott, according to Itemlive. 

Perry began mowing lawns for neighbors and friends at age 9, according to the CGP Landscaping website. He started his own business at age 18. 

"I continue to love what I do every day and feel so lucky to make my customers' dreams turn to reality," Perry said, according to the company's website. 

Perry's death is under investigation by the Essex County District Attorney’s Office State Police Detective Unit, Swampscott Police, and the federal Mine Safety and Health Administration and Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
