All six fled to Delaware in the stolen Porsche shortly after getting into a head-on crash in the first stolen vehicle at about 8:45 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16 near the corner of Shore Road and Mimi Court in Northfield, police said.

All six occupants fled on foot from the first stolen vehicle which was left at the scene of the crash eastbound toward Wabash Avenue, police said.

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the head-on crash was hospitalized with serious injuries, police said.

Northfield Sgt. Justin Heller responded to Wabash Avenue and observed a Porsche that was stolen during the home invasion leaving the scene. "A motor vehicle pursuit ensued but was terminated due to the extremely dangerous driving of the suspect(s)," police said.

The Porsche was tracked to an apartment complex in Wilmington, Delaware. Two juvenile suspects, 16 years of age, were apprehended by the Delaware State Police.

The juveniles who reside in Delaware were charged in New Jersey with numerous offenses for the motor vehicle crash and the home invasion including multiple counts of conspiracy, robbery, burglary with attempted bodily injury with a handgun, theft of a motor vehicle, assault by auto, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and leaving the scene of an accident with serious bodily injury as well as weapons offenses.

The extradition process has been initiated, police said. The handgun was not recovered.

"We are in the process of identifying the other (four) juveniles with the help of the Delaware State Police," Northfield police said on Tuesday, Sept. 19.
