NEW CANAAN, Conn. – Houlihan Lawrence, the leading real estate firm serving New York City’s northern suburbs, on Tuesday announced that Brotherhood & Higley will join the firm as an independently-owned affiliate.
Brotherhood & Higley is New Canaan’s oldest real estate brokerage, serving the New Canaan community since 1926. As a Houlihan Lawrence affiliate, Brotherhood & Higley will now operate as Houlihan Lawrence, providing its team of over 30 agents and their clients with complete access to the Houlihan Lawrence marketing platform.
“We are very pleased to welcome Brotherhood & Higley to the Houlihan Lawrence family,” said Chris Meyers, Managing Principal of Houlihan Lawrence. “We are confident that our new affiliate program will continue to enable us to grow in partnership with local market leaders like Brotherhood & Higley as we remain committed to deepening our roots in the communities we serve.”
Houlihan Lawrence has moved quickly to assume a leadership position in Fairfield County real estate. The firm opened its first Connecticut office in Greenwich in August 2013, growing rapidly to become the No. 1 brokerage in Greenwich this year. In January 2015, Houlihan Lawrence launched its successful affiliate program by joining forces with Kelly Associates, the longstanding No. 1 brokerage in Darien.
“I have known and admired Houlihan Lawrence and its ownership team for years, and I am thrilled to now become part of their team,” said Hugh Halsell, Managing Broker of Brotherhood & Higley. “Both Brotherhood & Higley and Houlihan Lawrence are family-owned, with a similar culture and commitment to the clients we serve. I simply can’t imagine a better fit. Additionally, the affiliate program is a perfect opportunity for my company to tap into the power of the Houlihan Lawrence brand. Their marketing platform is second to none – including sophisticated digital and print media strategies designed specifically for our market area.”
Houlihan Lawrence ranks among the top 15 of all brokerages nationally, selling about one-third of all homes in the communities north of New York City.
