FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn.- An affiliate of Berkshire Hathaway -- the company overseen by billionaire Warren Buffett -- has acquired one of Connecticut’s largest real estate brokerage houses, Prudential Connecticut Realty, based in Wallingford.
The company, HomeServices of America, Inc., will acquire Prudential Connecticut’s 59 statewide offices, as well as its estimated 1,400 real estate agents.
Prudential Connecticut is residential but it also works in commercial sales. Additionally, Prudential Connecticut offers mortgage financing and insurance services.
The brokerage firm will retain its name and its executive leadership, and will remain a Prudential Real Estate franchise.
"We are thrilled to be a part of HomeServices,” said Candace Adams, president of Prudential Connecticut Realty, in a written statement. “We share the same values and commitment to superior customer service. By joining forces, we have made our strong company even stronger.”
Now overseeing 26 real estate brands and representing some 16,000 agents in 20 states in the Midwest and the South, the deal will solidify HomeServices’ emergence into the Northeast market.
