Moore entertained a crowd of over 400 with impassioned stories of his experience growing up in Baltimore and the Bronx, N.Y. Moore's appearance was through the combined efforts of St. Luke’s, the New Canaan Library, and Elm Street Books.

“It couldn’t have worked out better to have Wes Moore come just after our community read his book. St. Luke’s is focused on building an inclusive community and Wes Moore’s books are a wonderful way to grow understanding,” said Stephanie Bramlett, St. Luke's director of diversity and student life.

Moore has written two books: his 2010 memoir, “The Other Wes Moore” and the recently published “The Work: My Search for a Life That Matters,” about his attempts to find fulfillment through service to others.
