Departing Norwalk Superintendent Promises Support

NORWALK, Conn. – Superintendent Susan Marks offered some additional words of farewell Tuesday at her last Norwalk Board of Education meeting. Here is what she said:

"I do know that there is someone who will come to Norwalk – there is so much potential here and so much to be proud of – who will come and work with the board to lead the schools to greatness. I do want to say that I have appreciated all the board members, your advice, your encouragement, and also sometimes telling me what I didn't do quite right and what I could have done better.

"This has been a tremendous learning experience for me. I'm connected to Norwalk – it gets under your skin, whether you have been here 40 years or two years. We have our favorite restaurants, we have our favorite places to go. I've already said I'm going to come back for Martin Luther King's birthday weekend, one of the highlights. It really brings the community together.

"Anything that I can do in the next stage of my life to support this school system I will."
