New Canaan High School finally has its new principal. Bryan Luizzi, currently the principal at Brookfield High School, has been selected for the top job, Superintendent David Abbey announced Monday through the school system's website .
Luizzi will officially take over July 1. He succeeds Tony Pavia , who will become principal at Trinity Catholic High School in Stamford. Dr. Luizzi clearly emerged as the top choice, Abbey said Monday.
According to the statement, Luizzi is in his fifth year as principal of Brookfield High. Before that, he served for two years as the assistant principal at the high school and two years as assistant principal at Whisconier Middle School in Brookfield. He was also the dean of students at Litchfield High School, a manager of technology operations in Newtown and an English teacher in the Newtown public schools.
