New Canaan Board OKs Spending For Saxe Middle School Remediation Project

NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- The New Canaan Board of Selectmen last week approved spending $157,750 for a remediation project at Saxe Middle School, according to a report in New Canaan Advertiser.

The New Canaan Board of Selectmen Tuesday, Nov. 17, approved spending close to $160,000 for a pre-expansion remediation project at the Saxe Middle School at 468 South Ave.

The town’s finance board recently gave the OK to an $18.6 million plan to expand the school by 12 classrooms and renovate the auditorium, according to a report in newcanaannewsonline.com.

According to media reports, the expansion will accommodate an expected rise in enrollment to 1,400 students by 2020.
