NEW CANAAN, Conn. – Cups intended to evoke the ocean, photographs influenced by shadows and work inspired by Japanese anime: New Canaan High School’s Class of 2012 put their artistic efforts on display.

The graduating seniors introduced their artwork at the annual senior art show, this one named DepARTure.

Dozens of students, parents and friends visited the gallery of senior art Wednesday in the high school lobby. Some took pictures of the artwork, while Warren Lancaster was happy to just admire the works, including those of his son, Cameron, who posted photos of a family trip to Australia as part of his submission. “It’s great,” Lancaster said.
