New Canaan High School Students Earn First Place In Physics Bowl

NEW CANAAN, Conn. – Students in New Canaan High School’s Advanced Placement physics class recently took first place in a regional physics bowl, according to a press release.

The New Canaan students were among 10,000 students worldwide who participated in the 2015 American Association of Physics Teachers International Physics Bowl Competition.

New Canaan’s Division I team won first place in Region 03, which is the New England area.

Team members were Claire Conley, Robbie Fusek, Dan Korsun, Charlie Pitteway, Chris Reik and Aidan Tuttle.

Conley also placed 47th in the world, while Reik garnered second-place individual honors in New England.

New Canaan’s Division II team took second place in the regional competition.

Members of that team were Steven DiCarlo, Sarah Hardy, Charlie Lenihan, Sarah Owen and Brendan Sweeney.

Lenihan also placed 46th in the world competition.
