NEW CANAAN, Conn. The New Canaan Board of Education has rescheduled a meeting to interview consultants to help with the search for a new superintendent. The new meeting will take place Tuesday at 8:30 p.m.
The board was originally scheduled to meet in executive session Monday, but had to change the meeting date due to a scheduling conflict, Board of Education Chair Hazel Hobbs said.
The people we were hoping to meet with were not able to meet on Monday, Hobbs said.
The board plans to hire a firm to help in the search for a successor to Superintendent David Abbey, who announced last month that he will retire at the end of the 2011-12 school year. Hobbs said she was not sure if the board would make a final decision on a search firm Tuesday.
