New Canaan's School Calendar To Follow Regional Guidelines

NEW CANAAN, Conn. -- New Canaan’s 2016-17 public school calendar will now reflect a 2013 decision made by state lawmakers that requires the same calendar for all of the schools in the region, including the same start date, spring vacation and teacher training days, according to the New Canaan Advertiser.

New Canaan Superintendent of Schools Bryan Luizzi said the school calendar guidelines result in loss of local control from each town’s Board of Education.
