Ferullo, a New Canaan High School alumna, said the children became interested in weaving after building a fort and using twine to secure the sticks. When Ferullo put out weaving items in the classroom, the children were immediately interested, she said.

While the students were having fun making their creations, they were also working on their fine motor and early math skills.
