New Principal Appointed At Stamford's Trinity Catholic High School

STAMFORD, Conn. --  Joseph Gerics, associate superintendent for the Archdiocese of New York, has been named the new principal at Trinity Catholic High School in Stamford, according to the Stamford Advocate

The Diocese of Bridgeport said Gerics will take over the position July 1, the Advocate said.

Gerics, a Trumbull resident, is replacing Mark Karagus, whose one-year contract was not renewed, the Advocate said.

Karagus had replaced three-year interim principal Tony Pavia, who took over in early 2010 after the death of longtime principal Robert D’Aquila. Pavia has recently been serving as interim principal at Stamford High School.

Gerics taught for 24 years at Fairfield College Preparatory School before becoming principal of Immaculate High School in Danbury in 1994, the Advocate said.
