NEW CANAAN, Conn.  – The 2012-13 school year is under way in New Canaan, but should it start before Labor Day?

New Canaan Public Schools opened its doors Tuesday for thousands of students to start the new year. However, it happened before Labor Day. Some welcome an early holiday weekend. But some say that starting after the last major summer holiday would make more sense and give families more time for vacation and to prep for the new school year.

What do you think? Should New Canaan schools reschedule the start of the school year for after Labor Day or should it leave well enough alone? Let us know by leaving a comment below. You can also share your thoughts on our Facebook page or send an email to mmason@dailyvoice.com.
