FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. - With temperatures reaching record highs for the 116th running of the Boston Marathon, Blake Benke of Westport was the first runner from Main Street Connect's Fairfield County coverage area to cross the finish line. Benke finished with a net time of 3:03:30.

Like so many others racing this year, Benke's time was considerably slower than his finish of 2:37:23 in last year's marathon because of the extreme heat. Benke finished ninth overall out of all runners from Connecticut.

Lauren Greig, of New Canaan, was the first female runner from Main Street Connect's Fairfield County coverage area to finish in Boston. Greig, who spoke with the Daily New Canaan recently, finished with a time of 3:29:34. She came in fourth place among women from Connecticut in the race.

Check back later to see how locals did in the 2012 Boston Marathon.
