Two quarterfinal games will be Friday and two will take place Saturday.

Brien McMahon High of Norwalk qualified for its first conference tournament since 2007 with a 7-4-1-1 record. The seventh-seeded Senators will have to contend with perennial powerhouse, Darien (12-1-0-0) at 3:30 p.m.

The Blue Wave's only loss of the season came against unbeaten Wilton. Darien defeated McMahon, 5-0, Oct. 4.

Third-ranked New Canaan (10-2-1-0) will host sixth-seeded Fairfield Warde (7-3-1-2) at 4 p.m. Friday.

Both teams enter the playoffs on a hot streak, each having won four of its last five games. The Rams and the Mustangs battled to a scoreless tie during the regular season.

Saturday's quarterifinal games start with a rematch of last year's conference championship. Top-ranked and unbeaten Wilton (13-0-0-0) will host eighth-seeded Staples High of Westport (7-5-0-1) at 2 p.m.

Wilton topped Staples, 3-1, during the regular season, but the Wreckers were one of only two conference opponents able to score a goal on the Warriors all season. Wilton allowed just two goals all season.

Staples hopes to be a giant-killer again after ending Darien's 93-game unbeaten streak in the semifinals last season en route to the Wreckers' first conference championship since 1995. Staples has won five of its last six games.

Fourth-ranked Greenwich (9-4-0-0) will host fifth-seeded Stamford (8-4-1-0) in the last quarterfinal game at a time to be determined Saturday.

Greenwich defeated Stamford, 2-1, during the regular season, but Stamford has won six of its last seven games entering the playoffs.

The field hockey conference semifinals are scheduled for 5 and 7 p.m. Tuesday at New Canaan High School. The conference championship is scheduled to take place at 7 p.m. Nov. 2 at Norwalk High School.
