Other players selected include Brittney Griner, the first pick in the 2013 WNBA Draft, College Slam Dunk Champion Doug Anderson of the University of Detroit Mercy, NAIA All-American Tyrone Davis of Northwood University, and Corey Law of High Point University.

“Brittney Griner is a great ambassador for the game of basketball and a terrific player. We fully support her WNBA career with the Phoenix Mercury,” said Harlem Globetrotters CEO Kurt Schneider. “Our North American tour runs from the end of December to the end of April, which would not conflict with the WNBA season."

“And in the fourth quarter, when the Globetrotters need to close out a game, who better than the best closer of all-time? Mariano Rivera has made a living by finishing off opponents. We always have a place on our roster for winning athletes with that kind of mindset.  His charitable work through the Mariano Rivera Foundation also embodies the spirit of the Globetrotters giving back to the community.”

Rivera is a five-time World Series Champion and a 12-time All Star. He has the most saves in Major League Baseball history and has been a World Series MVP. He and Globetrotters star Special K Daley both hail from Panama City, Panama. Rivera's charity donates more than half a million dollars per year to various charities in the U.S. and Panama. He currently lives in Harrison and owns the Refuge of Hope Church in New Rochelle.

The Harlem Globetrotters are celebrating their 87th season this year. The exhibition team is known for its theatricality, family entertainment and ball handling. The team has showcased in 122 countries and has entertained millions of fans, including popes, kings, queens and presidents.
