New Canaan Girls Lacrosse Looks To Knock Off Rivals

NEW CANAAN, Conn. — The New Canaan High girls lacrosse team kept running into familiar foes last season and kept coming up on the short end. Wilton eliminated the Rams from the conference playoffs, and Darien defeated them in the state tournament. This year, New Canaan hopes to turn the tables on its pesky rivals.

In the video, head coach Kristin Wood discusses the team's tough draw in last year's playoffs and the makeup of this year's squad. The Rams boast two of the most dynamic offensive players in the state in Sarah Mannelly and Olivia Hompe.

New Canaan opened its season on a high note Wednesday, defeating Norwalk, 17-4. Mannelly netted five goals.
